Oh WOW it's been a while and so much has gone on! I don't even know where to start! I guess I'll just have to start with what has been taking up most of my time-4-H.
With the fair being in July, there are so many things to do, and so little time! This year, I am showing some of my chickens-if I can tame them up some :)- and boy do I have a lot to learn. The other night at a poultry meeting, we were pretending to be in front of a judge and he was asking us questions. I was ashamed to say that the only parts of a chicken I know, were the beak, feathers, comb/waddle and tale!! AAHH!! I have a feeling that this year I will not be one of the finalists :) But it is still fun competing.
Last week, we had our "2nd Annual Equine Fair" at our Rolla Saddle Club. It was suppose to be a nice day for riding and clinics, but it turned out to be high of 48, raining (or was that sleet?) My dad, Mandy and I, braved the cold for a few hours, but then came home.
It seems as though the weather doesn't like our horse meetings, because just tonight, we were suppose to have a meeting at the Saddle Club so we could ride, and what do you know? It rains. And I mean RAIN!!!
Oh well. We are planning a trail ride in August, so hopefully it won't be bad weather then!
A few weeks ago, for a late birthday present, my grandma took me to see a play at our local drama club. About twice a year, this club puts on a play, mostly musicals and even though I've only seen a few plays, I have to say that these people put on the BEST plays EVER! The fun thing about it is that it is a community thing. About half of the characters are kids and grown-ups I know very well, which makes it interesting!
This play, called Seussical the Musical, a combination of a few different Dr. Seuss stories has become my favorite. They do a fantastic job of smashing together all the fun stories from our childhood like "Horton Hears a Who," "Gertrude McFuzz" and "Green Eggs and Ham" to make a delightful story both entertaining, inspiring and thrilling play! Many times I felt like crying, laughing and jumping up in song! And hopefully this fall, I will be joining that club! Well, at least audition :)
I hope everyone is having a great week, and Happy Easter!!
