A Few of My Favorite Things #2

A dream my mom and I have had for a while, has been to have a wooden pergola next to our house, with beautiful vines hanging from it.

This Spring, my dad went to work on our dream! And now, every morning here is what I wake up to :)

I'm so thankful for a wonderful, Creator that makes amazing things like this!

A Few of My Favorite Things #1

This Summer, my mom helped out in the kitchen a few days a week at Camp David of The Ozarks. One evening, she came home with a sample of some amazing cookie bars they had made that night. Thankfully, she was able to get the recipe for the scrumptious treats!

I know that some people don't like coconut, but with this recipe, it makes it so delicious! My family is not a big fan of coconut, and yet this has become our favorite.

-MAGIC COOKIE BARS-

1/2 c. melted butter
1 1/2 cps graham cracker crumbs
1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk.
2 cps chocolate chips
1 1/3 cps coconut flakes

1st layer:
Mix butter and crumbs
and pat into 13x9 greased pan
2nd layer:
Sprinkle coconut

3rd layer:
sprinkle choc. chips

4th layer:
pour sweetened milk on all
(whole can is optional)

Bake 25 min 350 degrees.
Enjoy!!

Good-by Summer!

I can't believe that Summer is almost over! My favorite season is fading! I'm filled with mixed feelings as Summer turns to Fall, my eighth grade year begins, and the weather starts to change.

So many things have happened this Summer! I am richly blessed with a new aunt ( :D ) I have been able to volunteer in our church's VBS, and at PCBA's camp.

So many new experiences, new feelings, new friends, new events have made Summer 2011 the BEST!

I am thoroughly excited for fall as well. I get to start Pre-Al in school, hopefully be in a local drama club and have a chance to perform, start back up flute lessons and get back to babysitting!

So what about your summer? Let me know what new experiences you have had over the summer, and what new experiences you may have this harvest season!

Have a wonderful rest of this beautiful season!
